Job Summary
This position is funded through a person-centered society (microboard) and focuses on supporting one young woman in her family home. You will help create a safe, comfortable, home-like environment while supporting her to build independence, develop life skills, and participate in her community.

Nature of the Role
You will work as part of a small, supportive team with direct access to family and professional guidance. Many shifts will be staffed 2:1, and parents will attend most appointments.
Key Responsibilities
- ✓Daily living and personal care support
- ✓Community participation and life skills development
- ✓Health monitoring and appointments
- ✓Medication administration and documentation
- ✓Supporting relationships and activities
- ✓Maintaining records and communication
- ✓Following behaviour and safety plans
- ✓Using effective de-escalation and crisis management strategies
Qualifications & Experience
- ✓Experience supporting individuals with developmental disabilities and complex behaviours
- ✓Ability to safely manage aggressive behaviours when needed
- ✓Strong de-escalation and crisis management skills
- ✓Ability to follow behaviour support and safety plans consistently
- ✓Strong communication and teamwork skills
- ✓Physically fit and able to respond calmly in active situations
Requirements
- ✓Valid driver's license
- ✓Criminal Record Check
- ✓Strong spoken English
- ✓Flexible availability
Who This Role Is Best Suited For
This role is best suited for individuals who are comfortable supporting someone during periods of distress that may include yelling, verbal escalation, and occasional aggression. The ideal candidate is calm under pressure, patient, confident, and able to remain supportive while following established plans and guidance.
